An Original Vintage Movie Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 154 pages) (Learn More)

Lifeboat, the classic 1943 Alfred Hitchcock (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) World War II (WWII) shipwreck survivor suspense melodrama ("Out of man's rawest emotions - comes the most amazing drama life ever staged!"; based on the story by John Steinbeck; set entirely on a lifeboat adrift on the Atlantic ocean, which has eight survivors from a ship torpedoed by a Nazi U-boat, and it also has a German sailor from the U-boat, but the other eight survivors don't know that!) starring Tallulah Bankhead, William Bendix, Walter Slezak, Mary Anderson, John Hodiak, Henry Hull, Heather Angel, Hume Cronyn, and Canada Lee. Note that Alfred Hitchcock was famous for having cameo roles in his movies, but because this movie had no other characters other than the lifeboat survivors, he could not appear in the usual way (but he included a scene where a floating newspaper is shown that has his picture on it)!

Important Added Info: Note that this script is the temporary script draft from June 17, 1943 and the screenplay was written by Jo Swerling. Note that between page 94 and 95, a page was bound into the script that tells that the preceding pages have been completely revised, but that pages 96 to 154 have NOT been revised!

Condition: very good to fine. The first interior page has a form that was signed by the person receiving the script and it has perforations in the bottom one-third of that page, and that form has been removed from that page (which is as intended, and is typical with such scripts). This was the way the studio kept track of who had these scripts!
