An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded International Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More) Grand Prix, the 1967 John Frankenheimer Cinerama Formula 1 (F1) automobile car racing sports melodrama ("All the glamour and greatness of the world's most exciting drama of speed and spectacle!"; "Cinerama sweeps you into a drama of speed and spectacle!"; "YOU are inside the cars... Inside the glamour capitals of the world... Inside the loves and lives of the men and women who belong to the great adventure of Grand Prix!") starring James Garner, Jessica Walter, Brian Bedford, Yves Montand, Eva Marie Saint, Toshiro Mifune, Antonio Sabato, and Francoise Hardy (billed as "Introducing Francoise Hardy"). Also featured were racing legends Phil Hill, Graham Hill, Dan Gurney, Jack Brabham, Jim Clark, and Bruce McLaren! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "Cinerama" poster from this car racing movie. When the Cinerama movies were first released, the studios printed posters with large Cinerama logos, but when the movies moved to a wider run (including theaters without Cinerama projectors) the studios printed new posters either without the Cinerama logo or with it greatly reduced. Cinerama posters from Cinerama movies are far more rare than the "non-Cinerama" posters! The poster is stamped "INT'L" on the bottom, indicating it was printed in the U.S. for use in non-U.S. countries. This three-sheet was printed in 2 sections. Condition: very good. The top portion of the poster has a censor stamp in the top right corner (fortunately, it is in the solid white background only). There are several pieces of masking tape that were placed on the back of the top section of the poster in the borders. It appears they were placed there as part of a way to attaching the poster to a wall. There are thumb tack holes, staple holes, and smudges around the edges of the poster. There are some creases and smudges along the foldlines. The bottom section of the poster is in quite nice condition, with no tape on the back, and no pinholes around the edges (it seems likely the owner of the poster only displayed the top section on their wall). The poster does not have separation at the crossfolds, and after a simple linenbacking by a top professional, the poster would look great and the only part of the poster that would require any real paint restoration would be the censor stamp in the top right corner, which is solely in the white background area.
