An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Lucy Marlow (born Lucy Ann McAleer) started acting in 1954, and after an uncredited appearance in "Lucky Me", she got a giant break playing Lola Lavery in "A Star is Born" in 1954. That same year, she met James Dean and they became good friends until his sad passing the following year. After A Star is Born, she appeared in five more movies and several TV appearances, but in 1955, she married Andy Carey, who was the third baseman for the New York Yankees, and she mostly retired and had two children.
