Silver Skates, the 1943 Leslie Goodwins ice skating sports musical ("The show of wonders that never cease!"; "Monogram's great ice spectacle!") starring Kenny Baker, Patricia Morison, Belita (billed as "Belita Wizard of the Ice"; she was an Olympic ice skater, who first appeared in the 1936 Olympics at 12 years old, and she appeared in several Republic movies that involved ice skating, and later in some non-ice skating dramatic roles), Frick & Frack (Werner Groebli & Hans Mauch; a team of Swiss comedy ice skaters who came to the U.S. in 1937 and skated in the Ice Follies, and who appeared in this movie and one other), Irene Dare, Danny Shaw, Eugene Turner, and Ted Fio Rito. Note that Irene Dare was a six year-old ice skating phenomenon from St. Paul, Minnesota, and in 1938, she appeared in an ice skating movie. She followed with another the next year, and then appeared in this, her final role, at the age of 12! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
