Bucquet & Jack Conway Asian China Japanese-invasion-of-a-Chinese-village melodrama ("MGM's immortal production of the great novel 'Dragon Seed'"; "Based on the novel by Pearl S. Buck") starring Katharine Hepburn, Walter Huston, Aline MacMahon (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Akim Tamiroff, Turhan Bey, Hurd Hatfield, and Frances Rafferty. Note that all of the main cast members were non-Asians and performed in "yellowface" makeup to portray Chinese and Japanese characters. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had small tears and paper loss in the center of the top horizontal fold, with some small tears and tiny bits of paper loss in the top and bottom quarters of the vertical foldline, with a lesser amount of wear on the other folds. It had some pinholes, tears, and paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking.
