An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 29" x 43" [74 x 109 cm]) (Learn More) The Ghoul, the 1933 T. Hayes Hunter English revenge monster horror thriller (based on the play by Leonard Hines & Frank King; about a famous Egyptologist who is near death, and he has a wonderful jewel called The Eternal Light which he believes will grant him eternal life and he demands to be buried with it, however his assistant steals it from his tomb, and Karloff "returns from the dead" to exact his vengeance, although the movie does not explain what made that possible, or why he now is disfigured and has superhuman strength!) starring Boris Karloff (in the title role as Professor Morlant), Cedric Hardwicke, Ernest Thesiger, Anthony Bushell, and Dorothy Hyson NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we can't say for certain that this poster is from the 1933 first release in Argentina. We have seen some posters with Radium Pictures on them that date from the 1930s, but also some that date from the 1940s. One of the 1930s ones was "The Monster Walks", which has the same image as the 1932 U.S. one-sheet, which is different than the 1940s re-release, so we know that Radium was active in 1932. HOWEVER, PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS POSTER UNLESS YOU CAN ACCEPT THE UNCERTAINTY AS TO WHETHER IT IS FIRST RELEASE OR AN EARLY RE-RELEASE. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that original vintage movie paper of any kind from this early English horror movie is INCREDIBLY scarce! In all the years we have done auctions, we have sold one English promo book (which sold for $1,600), an English herald, two lobby cards (one U.S. and one Canadian), several stills, and some Spanish heralds until we were consigned this cool Argentinean poster, which has a great different artwork image of Karloff!
