Date Sold 11/22/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Beyond the Rainbow, the 1922 Christy Cabanne (billed as "William Christy Cabanne") silent Wall Street New York City society romantic melodrama ("Consult your conscience, your secret is common gossip"; from the story 'The Price of Feathers' by Solita Solano; about the secretary to a Wall Street executive who supports her invalid brother, but when her brother needs to go away for an expensive rest cure, it seems the only way to get the money is for her to sleep with her boss, so she looks for any other way, and she finds it!) starring Harry T. Morey, Billie Dove (billed as "Lillian [Billie] Dove"), Virginia Lee, Diana Allen, James Harrison, Macey Harlam, Rose Coghlan, William H. Tooker, Helen Ware, George Fawcett, Marguerite Courtot, Edmund Breese, Walter Miller, Charles Craig, Clara Bow (billed second to last in her very first movie!), and Huntly Gordon. Note that Clara Bow won a magazine contest, and the prize was a part in this movie. But after she was filmed, the producers thought her acting so bad that they cut her brief part from the film! However, once she became a major star, the movie was reissued with her part restored, and she received much better billing! An example of the movie exists containing Bow's part, in this, her very first movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that any movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned anything other than four lobby cards from this movie until we received this glass slide (and we don't know that any of the posters for the movie had 16 stars billed, in which case, Clara Bow might not be billed on those)! Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine.
