An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Phantom of 42nd Street, the 1945 Albert Herman New York City Times Square Broadway theater stage acting crime murder mystery melodrama ("Based on the novel by Jack Harvey and Milton Raison"; about a woman who is about to debut in a Broadway play, but her uncle is killed at the theater, ruining the performance, and her broke uncle is the chief suspect, because he would inherit his brother's wealth) starring Dave O'Brien (in cowboy movies often billed as "Dave 'Tex' O'Brien"), Kay Aldridge, Alan Mowbray, Frank Jenks, and Edythe Elliot NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the middle crossfold and tiny paper loss at the other two folds. There was some minor fold wear and pinholes in the borders. There were some scuffs scattered in the image and a stain in the yellow background area at top above the "A" of "PHANTOM". Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
