An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More) Rio Rita, the 1942 S. Sylvan Simon south-of-the-border romantic musical screwball comedy ("The Daffy-Dilly Jubilee of Mirth and Music!"; "Special Material by John Grant"; about not very bright entertainers at a Mexican resort, and they meet Nazi agents who try to trick them into smuggling contraband into the U.S.) starring Bud Abbott, Lou Costello (Abbott and Costello), Kathryn Grayson (in the title role as Rita Winslow), John Carroll, Patricia Dane, Tom Conway, Peter Whitney, Eros Volusia (a sexy Brazilian dancer; as herself), and Joan Valerie. Note that the contract that Abbott & Costello had signed with Universal allowed them to make one movie a year at a different studio, and this movie was made with MGM (they made two other MGM movies in 1944 and 1945). The poster was folded in half an extra time, resulting in many extra folds, and there are creases, tears, and a few tiny areas of paper loss on many foldlines. There are some tiny areas of paper loss at some crossfolds, and some smudges in the light background areas. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer did not spend a lot of effort touching up the above defects, and they are still somewhat noticeable. Learn More about condition grades
