An Original 1964 Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #3 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Tengoku to Jigoku (released in the U.S. in 1964 as "Akira Kurosawa's High and Low", and released in other English-speaking countries as "Ransom"), the classic 1963 Akira Kurosawa Japanese kidnapping crime thriller ("Adapted from Ed McBain's 'King's Ransom'"; based on a great story by the U.S. writer Ed McBain, who had many pen names including Evan Hunter; ranks alongside "M" as one of the very finest movies of this kind ever made!) starring Toshiro Mifune, Kyoko Kagawa, Tatsuya Nakadai, Tsutomu Yamazaki, Susumu Fujita, Kenjiro Ishiyama, Takeshi Kato, and Takashi Shimura (Shimura often worked with Kurosawa, similar to the relationship Ward Bond had with John Ford) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good to very good. There is a Canadian censor stamp in the lower right. Note that the card has a very minor printing defect, which is a series of faint light pink and blue lines down the left edge of the left blank border. This was a very minor printing defect that occurred during the printing of these cards, and it is found on many 1950s and early 1960s lobby cards, and few collectors consider it much of a defect at all, because it is in the left edge of the blank border, has no effect on the image, and would likely be on all examples of this lobby card.
