An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Dial M For Murder, the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) romantic love triangle crime murder mystery detective suspense thriller ("...is that you, darling?"; "Written by Frederick Knott who wrote the International Stage Success"; "If a woman answers... hang on for dear life!"; "Is this the man she was waiting for... or the man who was waiting for her?"; "Perfect 3 Dimension in the Hitchcock manner!") starring Ray Milland, Grace Kelly, Robert Cummings (Bob Cummings), John Williams, and Anthony Dawson. Note that, although this movie was filmed in 3-D, none of the original posters mention it at all (there is an explanation in the pressbook that because they know many theaters will not show it in 3-D, "the ads have been designed so that the 3D copy may be eliminated" [and obviously, this is why they did not put 3-D on the posters]). The poster had many tears and areas of paper loss along all the foldlines and around the edges, and there were stains scattered throughout. The entire poster had faded considerably (the solid background areas were a vivid dark red, and they became a light orange. Overall, the poster was in poor to fair condition prior to linenbacking. Given the many defects, the poster was pretty well backed, but it required a great deal of paint restoration, and the poster has a "heavily restored" look. While it displays pretty well, please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above and have looked at our super-sized image. Learn More about condition grades
