An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More)

Man-Made Monster, the 1941 George Waggner Universal science fiction (sci-fi) horror thriller ("Based on the story entitled 'The Electric Man' by H.J. Essex, Sid Schwartz and Len Golos") starring Lionel Atwill, Anne Nagel, Frank Albertson, Samuel S. Hinds, Lon Chaney Jr. (Chaney is billed last on posters, in spite of him being the star of the movie, but his credit is much larger than those who come before him), and Russell Hicks. Note that Lon Chaney Jr.'s career, despite his famous father, had been pretty much going nowhere in the 1930s. In 1939, he gave a wonderful performance as Lenny in "Of Mice and Men", which gained him much acclaim, but did not lead to better parts. This was his first starring role in a Universal horror movie, and later the same year, he was given the lead in "The Wolf Man", which became his signature role, and which he reprised several times over the 1940s!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned an example of this poster before! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good. The poster has completely separated along the top and center horizontal folds and is mostly separated along the bottom one (see our image). Those are backed with tape. There are a few more minor defects that can be clearly seen in our super-sized image. After proper restoration the ultra rare insert will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
