Date Sold 10/26/2021 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) If I Were Queen, the 1922 Wesley Ruggles silent romantic love triangle mistaken identity melodrama ("From the story 'The Three Cornered Kingdom' by Du Vernet Rabell"; a complicated story of a European Prince who is supposed to marry a Princess from a neighboring kingdom, but he mistakes an American heiress for the Princess and falls in love with her) starring Ethel Clayton, Andree Lejon, Warner Baxter, Victory Bateman, and Murdock MacQuarrie. Note that Warner Baxter was born in 1889, and in the early 1920s he rose to prominence in silent movies, becoming a major star of the 1920s, while he was in his 30s. He won the Oscar for Best Actor as The Cisco Kid in "In Old Arizona" in 1929, and he remained a top star throughout the 1930s. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: This group of silent lobby cards is one of many that were consigned to us by a very long time collector. Almost all of the groups were in surprisingly nice condition, but not surprisingly, many of them had smudges or stains in the blank borders, with a few pinholes or small tears. The collector approached a restorer, and asked that all the cards have touch up performed on the fronts of the cards in the borders (as needed), but that none of them be backed in any way. You can tell that the cards have had some border restoration (some of it is more "felt" than seen), but they will display really well on the new owner's walls (or in albums). And many of these cards are from EXTREMELY rare titles! Condition: very good.
