He was born in 1889, and in the early 1920s he rose to prominence in silent movies, becoming a major star of the 1920s, while he was in his 30s. He won the Oscar for Best Actor as The Cisco Kid in "In Old Arizona" in 1929, and he remained a top star throughout the 1930s! Some of his other movies include: Arizona Kid (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), 42nd Street, West of Zanzibar, The Prisoner of Shark Island, Penthouse, and Slave Ship. He passed away in 1951 at the age of 62. Important Added Info: Note that these stills measure from 7 3/4" x 9 3/4" to 8" x 10". Condition: good to very good. A few stills have tape repairs on the back repairing tiny edge tears, and some have tape in some corners (not put there for any restoration purpose). One has a studio issued title snipe glued to the lower edge and the still pictured third at right has some rippling and drip stains but overall they are in pretty nice condition.
