An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More) Apache Rose, the 1947 William Witney singing cowboy western musical ("Roy's first Trucolor"; "When Roy gets riled...the action gets wild...and you get a new thrill..... in TRUCOLOR!"; "All the joy of the West with Roy at his best...") starring Roy Rogers ("King of the Cowboys"), Trigger ("The Smartest Horse in the Movies"), Dale Evans, Olin Howlin, and Bob Nolan and The Sons of the Pioneers NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). OR you can't see the restoration because it was so well done, but the poster had fairly significant defects. OR no restoration was performed, but the defects are not major, and restoration could be done to the poster without re-backing it. See below for its pre-restoration defects (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). poster has minor smudges and creases throughout, as well as some tears on some foldlines. there are border defects, including pinholes in the corners, creases, tears, and much smudging around the edges of the poster. The poster is well linenbacked but the person who did so pretty much just mounted the poster and left the minor defects alone. They are not very noticeable or distracting, but if they bother the new owner of the poster, a talented restorer could touch them up without rebacking the poster. Note that the excess linen around the edges of the poster is "rippled", but this does not affect the poster itself. Learn More about condition grades
