An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Jumbo Lobby Card (LC; measures 14" x 17" [36 x 43 cm]) (Learn More) Ladies of the Mob, the 1928 William A. Wellman silent romantic crime melodrama (a wild story of a girl whose father died in the electric chair, and her mother raised her to be a crook as well; she grows up and falls in love with another crook, and she fears he will end up like her father, so she shoots him in the shoulder so he can't go on a bank robbery with the gang, but everything works out in the end) starring Clara Bow, Richard Arlen, Helen Lynch, Mary Alden, and Carl Gerard. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. Note that Clara Bow was the most famous "flapper girl" of the mid to late 1920s (she became known as "The It Girl" after the character she played based on the popular novel by Elinor Glyn). She had a major role in Wings, and was Paramount's biggest star at that time. But she had a notorious private life and seemingly "settled down" when she married cowboy star Rex Bell in 1931 (she had two children and she retired from movies), but sadly in 1949 she went into a mental institution after a failed suicide attempt (she had had psychiatric issues for quite some time) and she was released but never returned to her family, and lived alone until her death in 1965. Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that on May 6 of this year, we auctioned a large collection of jumbo lobby cards, including many rare titles in excellent condition. Our consignor had held back a few of the best ones, but he was happy with the results of the rest of his collection, and now he has consigned the remaining ones. After these (which we are currently offering, all in individual auctions) are auctioned, there will be no more left from this amazing collection! Condition: very good to fine. There are just a few smudges and dot stains in the upper right border. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition. It is not at all fragile or brittle, which is very unusual for jumbo lobby cards!
