The Dancing Years, the 1948 (released in the U.S. in 1950) Harold French English Vienna Austria romantic musical ("Music... Spectacle! Romance & colour! Plus the magic of Novello to make this the wonder musical of the year!"; about a composer who has his big break when an operetta star agrees to perform his work, and they fall in love too!) starring Dennis Price, Gisele Preville, Patricia Dainton, Anthony Nicholls, and Olive Gilbert. Note that the story and songs were written by British actor Ivor Novello, who had written this as a stage play and starred in it on the English stage!
