An Original Vintage Souvenir Program Book (measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; 18 pages) (Learn More) Hollywood Ice Revue, the 1942-43 Arthur M. Wirtz ice skating ice show musical starring Sonja Henie ("Sixth Triumphant Tour"). This was started by Miss Henie in the Spring of 1936, and it was a huge hit, and became an annual event, lasting into the 1950s (but Miss Henie left it in 1950, after a dispute with Mr. Wirtz). Note that in 1942, this annual show, then in its sixth year, added a special "To the Colors" section to their show, which featured Miss Henie and dozens of ice skaters dancing to patriotic songs (including "White Christmas" by Irving Berlin). This section was designed to show that "the citizens of a free world must proceed to keep this a world not domineered by Nazi or Fascist aggressors". There is a page in the 1941 program that says "Thanks to Walt Disney", and tells about the addition to the show, and has a picture of Walt dressed in a costume wearing ice skates!
