Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) The Invader (released in the U.S. as "An Old Spanish Custom"), the 1936 Adrian Brunel English romantic Spain adventure comedy ("A Melbert Special"; "The world's greatest fun-maker in his funniest feature comedy!"; about an inept rich man who sails to Spain with his beautiful mistress, and she gets him entangled in all sorts of dangerous situations) starring Buster Keaton ("in his funniest feature comedy"), Lupita Tovar, Hilda Moreno, ("and a great cast") Lyn Harding, and Esme Percy. Note that this movie was produced by Sam Spiegel, and he hired cinematographer Eugen Schufftan, who had worked with Pabst and other expressionistic European directors, and he DID add to the quality of this movie! Also note that Buster Keaton remade this movie as a short, "Pest from the West", three years later when he was hired by Columbia. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This poster has been professionally linenbacked. It now looks great, and most dealers would describe it as "fine (or mint) on linen". We have noted the defects that were restored below (and feel everyone should always do this!). Many collectors would not be aware of the restoration this poster has had unless it was specifically shown to them! Condition: very good to fine. This poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. It appears to have had the following defects: There were small holes at each crossfold, pinholes in the corners, and some separation at the ends of the foldlines.
