An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet (from Chapter 5, "Cloaked in Flame") Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Secret Service in Darkest Africa, the 1943 Spencer Gordon Bennet World War II (WWII) crime action Nazi spy espionage serial ("A Republic Serial in 15 Chapters"; about an American Secret Service agent sent to Africa in World War II, where Nazis and evil Arabs have joined together to help each other conquer the world) starring Rod Cameron, Joan Marsh, Duncan Renaldo, Lionel Royce, Kurt Kreuger, and Frederic Brunn. Note that Steven Spielberg and George Lucas' "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was directly inspired by the first chapter of this serial! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). very good. The poster had extra creases along the foldlines and had small tears and a few tiny areas of paper loss on some folds. There were small holes at each crossfold and pinholes and minor wear on the borders. The above defects were well corrected during the linenbacking process and the poster looks nice, but you can see signs of restoration in the top portion of the vertical fold.
