Date Sold 10/25/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage French Magazine Page (measures 8 3/4" x 11 1/4" [22 x 29 cm]) (Learn More) Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was a French painter and illustrator known for elegant and provocative images of Paris. He was considered one of the greatest painters of the Post-Impressionist period. Some of his works include: The Marble Polisher, At the Moulin Rouge, Portrait of Gabrielle, and Le Coucher. Note that Toulouse-Lautrec suffered from congenital defects (possibly caused by inbreeding), and after childhood injuries, his legs stopped growing. He was only 4'8" tall as an adult. Toulouse-Lautrec passed away in 1901 at the age of 36 from a combination of alcoholism and syphilis. Artist: Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec Important Added Info: Note that this page was removed from a magazine. There is printing on the reverse side of the page, and we may or may not have photographed it. But this page can be matted or framed for little money and makes a great inexpensive display! Note that this magazine page is linenbacked, and normally we would send linenbacked posters rolled in a tube, but because this is a very small poster, and because rolling it might caused it to have creases, we intend to send it in a flat package instead (however, if the purchaser of this also purchases other linen items, and absolutely wants us to send it rolled with those other linens, we will do so). What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The page was removed from a magazine and had a few tiny brown stains and slight darkening around the edges. Overall, the magazine page was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the magazine page "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Some dealer put a sticker in the bottom of the excess linen giving information about the page and a price of $550 (of course, it does not affect the actual page). Learn More about condition grades
