An Original 1957 (from the first release of this movie in Poland) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Polish Movie Poster (23x33; measures 23 1/4" x 34" [59 x 86 cm]) (Learn More) Il Cappotto (released in the U.S. as "The Overcoat"), the 1952 Alberto Lattuada Italian poor-man-only-wants-a-nice-overcoat melodrama (based on the story 'The Overcoat' by Nikolai Gogol; about a lowly clerk who has only one desire, which is to have a nice overcoat, and he eventually gets it, but it leads to his death) starring Renato Rascel, Yvonne Sanson, Giulio Stival, Ettore Mattia, and Giulio Cali. Note that this classic Russian story was re-imagined in then-present day Italy! Artist: Liliana Baczewska Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had small tears and small areas of paper loss on parts of several folds, more so in the right vertical fold. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
