Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Phantom Lady, the 1944 Robert Siodmak New York City crime mystery film noir ("The most talked about mystery in ten years!"; "Based on the novel by William Irish", which was the pseudonym Cornell Woolrich used when writing this book; about a man who goes to a bar and meets a woman, and they share their sad stories, and he goes home and finds his wife has been murdered, and he tells the police about the woman in the bar, but nobody can find her, and he is sentenced to death for the murder of his wife, and his secretary tries desperately to find the woman from the bar, who is the "phantom lady" of the title) starring Franchot Tone, Ella Raines, Alan Curtis, Thomas Gomez, Aurora Miranda (sister of Carmen Miranda!), Elisha Cook Jr., Fay Helm, and Andrew Tombes NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster is linenbacked; prior to restoration the poster was folded in half an extra time and there were extra creases along the foldlines; there were pinholes and smudges around the edges of the poster; there was paper loss in the left blank corners; there were tears and tiny paper loss in the bottom 12" of the vertical foldline; there was a 1" tear in the hair of the woman at bottom right; The poster is in better condition than the above makes it sound! The defects are the kind that can be greatly minimized by restoration and the poster was well linenbacked and now looks quite nice! Learn More about condition grades
