An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

The Conspirators, the 1944 Jean Negulesco World War II (WWII) Spain romantic spy espionage thriller ("From the Novel by Fredric Prokosch"; about a Dutch freedom fighter who escapes from the Nazis and tries to make it to neutral Portugal, but he is stopped in Spain, where he encounters Nazis and meets a mysterious beautiful woman, and he falls in love with her, and wants to take her to England with him, but she tells him that she has a husband who saved her from a concentration camp) starring Hedy Lamarr, Paul Henreid, Sydney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre, Victor Francen, Joseph Calleia, Carol Thurston, and Vladimir Sokoloff. Note that this movie borrows heavily from the hugely successful "Casablanca", which was made two years before, except in this movie, Henreid plays the "Bogart" role!

Important Added Info: Note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So it is an original still from 1944, but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

UPDATED 07/10/2015: Note that this still is from 1944 and not 1969 as the Auction Title originally mentioned.
