Balderston from the play by Peggy Webling"; the first of the Universal "Frankenstein" movies, and regarded as one of the finer movies of any genre, in large part due to the marvelous acting of Boris Karloff, and the marvelous direction of James Whale!) starring Colin Clive (as Dr. Herbert V. Frankenstein), Boris Karloff (as the Frankenstein monster), Edward Van Sloan, Fredric Kerr, Mae Clarke, Dwight Frye (extremely memorable as Fritz), and John Boles NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this first release Swedish poster, which has a completely different image than that of any other poster we have seen from this title! Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It had a 12" horizontal tear in the middle of the left border, with the tiniest of surface paper loss on small parts of the tear. Someone put white conservation tape on the back of the tear. It has very minor border wear. It has some smudges in the borders that seem surely to be a very minor printing defect and not something that was acquired later, but we can't say for certain. There is a similar smudge in the bottom left, in the lower part of the red area. Other than the above, this extremely rare poster is in really nice condition, especially considering its age!
