Note that this was one of Hollywood's first realistic looks at alcoholism that was not heavy handed and one-dimensional, and it has not really dated at all, and it remains a very powerful movie, with great writing, acting, cinematography, and direction. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The entire poster had darkened, more so along the foldlines. It had tears and areas of paper loss on small parts of some foldlines (see our image). Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. While some collectors would be happy to display this rare and cool poster as it is, others might choose to have additional restoration performed (either with or without re-backing the poster), so please read our description above and look at our super-sized image before placing a bid on this really cool poster.
