An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded German Movie Poster (measures 58 1/2" x 85 1/2" [149 x 217 cm]) (Learn More) Wenn Volker Streiten (literally translates to "When Nations Quarrel"), the 1915 Rino Lupo (also known as Cesare Lupo) German silent World War I (WWI) anti-war pacifism horrors-of-war melodrama short (about two friends, a Frenchman and a German, who become enemies when their nations go to war). Note that this anti-war movie was highly praised when it was made, both for its message and for its production values, which were ahead of its time, and helped create a strong anti-war sentiment. Also note that, given that this movie was made not that long after World War I began, it would certainly seem a strong candidate to be the very FIRST movie ever made bout World War I! We have only previously auctioned a different example of this German poster from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this second German poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this German movie! There are very few German movie posters from before World War II in existence (because of the massive paper shortages in Germany during World War II), and most of those few are in museums. Also note that this German poster was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Condition: good. The poster is fragile. It has darkening on many of the folds and some tears and tiny paper loss on parts of folds and parts of the borders. Please bear all this in mind before bidding on this very rare poster.
