Date Sold 5/1/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Ilsa, She Wolf of the S.S., the 1974 Don Edmonds German/U.S. World War II (WWII) Nazi Germany sexploitation torture horror movie ("From the company that gave you 'Mark of the Devil, 'Last House on the Left' and 'Don't Look in the Basement' and now The Ultimate!"; "The most dreaded Nazi of them all!"; "She committed crimes so terrible... even the SS feared her!"; "Who's that woman with Hitler?"; "My name is Ilsa! I turned my lovers into lampshades!"; "Warning: Some members of the public may find certain scenes in this film offensive and shocking - The Management"; about a sadistic female warden in Nazi Germany; one of several "Ilsa" movies) starring Dyanne Thorne (in the title role as Ilsa), Gregory Knoph, Tony Mumolo, Maria Marx, and George 'Buck' Flower. Note that the original U.S. one-sheet released for this movie had the super offensive tagline, "My name is Ilsa ! I turned my lovers into lampshades!". Apparently this was going too far (even for the makers of this ultra-offensive Nazi sexploitation movie!), and a new poster was created that did not have this tagline. The posters with the "lampshade" tagline are far more rare than the ones without them, and sell for a huge amount of money. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that, as noted above, this poster has the original tagline for this movie that was so outrageously offensive tagline that it was withdrawn. We have only auctioned this poster once before, in 2011. This is considered by many collectors to be the "Holy Grail" of bad taste posters! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds, with pinholes around the edges and small paper loss in the center of the top blank border. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
