Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's great drama!"; "Screen Play by John Meehan and Dore Schary"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; a true story, with only slight embellishment, of the great work done by the real-life Father Flanagan; the actual Boys Town was not much different than the one depicted in the movie, but interestingly, due to the overwhelming success of this movie, the real Boys Town has received so many charitable donations over the years that it is a very wealthy institution!) starring Spencer Tracy (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film, as Father Flanagan), Mickey Rooney, Henry Hull, Leslie Fenton, Gene Reynolds, Edward Norris, Bobs Watson, and Bohunk (the dog, as himself!)
