His son Russell was also an actor and his wife Lucile was an actress and active in the USO program. Some of his movies include: The Night Of The Hunter, Arsenic and Old Lace, and Here Comes Mr. Jordan (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), as well as a series of movies he made with his real life family. He passed away in 1959 at the age of 76 AND William Farnum was an actor from the 1910s to the 1950s. He was born in 1876 (on the 4th of July), into an acting family, and his parents put him and his brothers into stage roles when they were children. He made his Broadway debut in 1896, and soon had giant success in the title role in a stage production of Ben-Hur, and he toured in it for 5 years. From 1915 to 1924, he starred in movies for William Fox, and he was paid $10,000 a week. In 1924, he was seriously injured while making a movie, and that severely limited his acting career, so he returned to the stage, including playing the title role in Julius Caesar, and as Banquo in the Broadway production of Macbeth. He passed away in 1953 at the age of 76. He had an older brother, Dustin Farnum, who was also a major silent star, and he had a younger brother, Marshall, who was a silent film director from 1914 to 1917, but sadly, he died that year. Important Added Info: This cut album page has been personally autographed (signed) by BOTH James Gleason AND William Farnum (they each signed a different side)!
