Date Sold 1/24/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Folded Two-Sided World War II Poster (measures 35" x 47" [89 x 119 cm]) (Learn More) Newsmap, the 1943 - 1945 U.S. World War II (WWII) poster series, with each poster featuring images and information about various aspects of the war such as the accomplishments of engineers, the current progress of the Allied war efforts, daily life in the armed forces, and more. We are not sure if these were distributed to military bases, or to the "Home Front", or maybe both. Surely most people treated them like old newspapers and discarded them after use, and they are likely quite rare (and there were quite a few different ones). Artist: Dr. Seuss Important Added Info: Note that this poster (which we have never auctioned before) features mosquito artwork was created by Captain Theodore Geisel, who would later become famous as Dr. Seuss! The text is probably by Munro Leaf, author of The Story of Ferdinand. The two men also collaborated on a booklet with the title This Is Ann - She's Dying to Meet You, which featured similar artwork and more text. Also, note that this poster is double-sided, but not in the regular way. There is a different image on each side of the poster. We have provided an image of each side, and please realize that the winner of this auction will receive ONE poster! Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
