An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 14" x 22 1/4" [36 x 57 cm]) (Learn More) Cab Calloway and His Orchestra in Hi-De-Ho, the 1947 Josh Binney New York City black African American nightclub crime murder romantic love triangle musical ("All-American presents Cab Calloway in 'Hi-De-Ho' with his entire world famous orchestra & a fine cast of headline celebrities"; "Fun! Music!"; "All-American presents Cab Calloway and his Orchestra for the first time in any all-Negro feature!"; All-American Pictures felt that Cab Calloway as a big selling point in one of their movies, and they had him star as himself in this complicated story involving him involved with his pretty female manager, which makes his girlfriend jealous, and he gets involved with mobsters and murder too!) starring Cab Calloway ("in practically every scene"; as himself) and His Orchestra, Ida James, Miller Brothers and Lois, Jeni Le Gon, Peters Sisters, George Wiltshire, James Dunmore, Augustus Smith, and Dusty Fletcher (billed as "Dusty 'Open The Door Richard' Fletcher") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that a theater that was showing this movie in 1948 (in its continuous first release) needed a window card to advertise it, but they didn't have any! So they took lobby cards and stapled them to the bottom of a blank window card stock that they had overprinted with their theater information and the movies they were showing (besides this movie, they were also showing Open The Door Richard). So this is a lobby card that has been converted to a window card-like display! One could either leave it as it is or remove the staples and have just a lobby card (that will be the choice of the new owner). We have only previously auctioned five lobby cards from this movie. Condition: fair. Both the lobby card and the backing it was stapled to have much staining. One could have restoration performed, but bear this in mind before bidding on this.
