An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Rahsaan Roland Kirk was a black African-American jazz multi-instrumentalist who played tenor saxophone, flute, and many other instruments from the 1950s to the 1970s. He became blind at the age of two (a result of improper medical treatment), and during his career he was renowned for his onstage vitality, during which virtuoso improvisation was accompanied by comic banter, political ranting, and the ability to play several instruments simultaneously. He passed away in 1977 at the age of 42.
Important Added Info: Note that this is one of seven great stills we were consigned that all show black African American musical performers. Such stills are extremely rare. All are clearly originals and have information on the back indicating that they were publicity stills. In several cases, we have never had any other stills showing these performers, so this is a very rare chance to purchase one or more of these!

Condition: good to very good. There is unevenness to the emulsion in part of the top of the still slightly entering the top of Kirk's head, but it is mostly only noticeable when the still is tilted to the light.
