Cohan, who wrote the music and the lyrics used in the movie) starring James Cagney (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as George M. Cohan), Joan Leslie, Walter Huston (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as George M. Cohan's father), Richard Whorf, Jeanne Cagney (James Cagney's real life sister, playing George M. Cohan's sister), Frances Langford, George Tobias, Irene Manning, S.Z. Sakall, Walter Catlett, and Rosemary DeCamp (as George M. Cohan's mother) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of the first release style A half-sheet from this movie (but all three were folded, and this one is unfolded, which is a big difference with a Warner Bros. linen finish poster), and the last one was 8 years ago (and we also only auctioned two examples of the first release style B half-sheet)! Note that this half-sheet, as well as the window card and six-sheet, have an incredibly superior image to that of the one-sheet for this movie (the one-sheet has only a small image of Cagney in the bottom right, and this poster is everything you would want the poster to be!). Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has darkened slightly, typical of Warner Bros. linen half-sheets of this period, but it is not at all fragile, which is a big plus. It has faint water staining in the bottom left, extending into the left of the title. You can see it from the front, because the poster is lightly rippled in that area. Other than the light rippling, the poster is in exceptional condition, and a talented restorer can "flatten" this poster without backing it or performing other restoration, and afterwards, it will display incredibly (but many collectors could display it just as it is)!
