An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Belgian Movie Poster (measures 13 1/2" x 21" [34 x 53 cm]) (Learn More) Gli Amori di Ercole (literally translates to "The Loves of Hercules"; released in the U.S. on TV in 1966 as "Hercules vs. the Hydra") the 1960 Carlo Ludovico Bragaglia Italian/French sword-and-sandal fantasy action adventure starring Jayne Mansfield (in a dual role), Mickey Hargitay (in the title role as Hercules), Massimo Serato, Rene Dary, Moira Orfei, Gil Vidal, and Sandrine. Note that this movie must have been MIGHTY bad, because it did not get released in the U.S. at all in 1960, and it was six years before they showed it on TV in the U.S. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this poster, and that was 11 years ago! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 13 1/2" x 21" [34 x 53 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). The poster also had minor wear on the folds and a few small tears and faint stains in the borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking.
