A 1951 Realart Re-Release Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Dracula, the classic 1931 Tod Browning Universal vampire monster horror thriller ("The Greatest of all Horror Thrillers"; "The Vampire Thriller!"; "The story of the strangest passion the world has ever known!"; "Do vampires really exist?"; "From the famous novel & play by Bram Stoker") starring Bela Lugosi (in the title role as Count Dracula), David Manners, Helen Chandler, Dwight Frye (if there had been a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award in 1931, Frye would have surely won it for his wild over-the-top portrayal as Renfield!), Edward Van Sloan (as Professor Abraham Van Helsing), Frances Dade, and Herbert Bunston NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of this 1951 re-release one-sheet, and two of those were 17 years ago and 21 years ago (the three sold for $4,759, $4,421, and $3,606)! Of course, since that time, prices on posters like these have risen drastically, and the first release Dracula one-sheet is now at least six figures, making this poster (with a completely different and really cool image) a really wonderful alternative! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and just a few tiny dots of surface paper loss on just a few folds. It had pinholes, small tears, and tiny paper loss in the borders. It had a 4" tear in the right of the bottom border that extended into the "I" of "DUPLICATED" and into the red background behind it. It had a tear and tiny paper loss in the red background to the left of the word "HORRIFIC" at upper right. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
