An Original Vintage Theatrical Italian Movie Lobby Card (Italian LC; measures 13 1/2" x 19" [34 x 48 cm]) (Learn More) La nave bianca (released in English-speaking countries as "White Ship"), the 1942 Robert Rossellini Italian World War II (WWII) military Navy semi-documentary (about the efforts of the Italian Navy in World War II; there is documentary footage, and there is a fictional plot of a sailor who is wounded, and sent to a hospital ship, where he falls in love with a nurse, who has secretly been his pen pal for quite some time!). Note that this movie was made in Italy during World War II, and that the Fascists are the heroes, and the English are the villains! The director was Roberto Rossellini, making his very first feature-length movie, and he would go on to great fame after the war. Also note that one of the cameramen was Mario Bava, who became a cult favorite with horror films that he directed! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" lobby card for this Italian movie! Also note that it is difficult to accurately date Italian posters, and some unmarked re-release posters can be extremely difficult to distinguish from first releases, so please bear that in mind before you place a bid. We used our best information to date this poster, but we can't always guarantee that the Italian posters we sell are not from an unmarked re-release, but this will only prove to be true in a very tiny number of cases.
