Van Dyke II") amnesia romantic divorce screwball comedy ("It's one long, loud L-A-U-G-H!"; based on the novel by Octavus Roy Cohen; about a boring businessman about to be divorced from his wife, but then he is hit on the head, and realizes he is actually a great con man, and he sets about trying to win back his wife!) starring William Powell, Myrna Loy, Frank McHugh, Edmund Lowe, Donald Douglas, and Nella Walker NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this style D one-sheet, and that was 12 years ago! Also note the unusual border art on this poster (apparently, MGM REALLY wanted to drive home that this was a comedy!). What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had paper loss at the top crossfold, with small paper loss at the other two crossfolds. It had small tears and tiny paper loss scattered on parts of the folds, with smudges and stains in the top blue background area, and in the right center of the red box, to the right of the "U". It had some pinholes, tears, paper loss and stains around the edges. It had a diagonal tear running from the center of the bottom border, up through Powell's coat and ending in his shirt. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
