America's Food Pledge 20 million tons, the 1917 U.S. World War I (WWI) Home Front poster ("We have promised to feed the hungry millions of Europe - the Allies and liberated nations"; "Save food"; "Two-thirds more than last year from stocks no larger") encouraging citizens to save food, and featuring a circular design bordered by wheat

Condition: good. The poster was placed on to a very thin linen backing shortly after being printed. The purpose was to reinforce the poster, so that it would survive when it was put up on walls and taken down. Such posters can be professionally removed from the original linen and placed on to a proper linen backing. This particular poster has slight discoloration throughout the old linen backing which affects front. After restoration and proper linenbacking the poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
