An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Jane Powell is an actress and singer from the 1940s to the 1980s. Some of her movies, including many MGM musicals, include: Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Royal Wedding, Marie, A Date with Judy, and Two Weeks in Love. She broke into movies in an interesting way, as a teenager. She had been singing coloratura soprano on the radio when she was 14, and was given a chance to be in "Song of the Open Road" with W.C. Fields in 1944. I bet no one would have guessed she would go on to be a major musical star of the 1950s! As of 2021, she is still alive at the age of 92! Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Jane Powell! This was purchased from the estate of longtime collector Garth Geary, who attended many collectibles shows and surely obtained this in person. Our consignor does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are certain the signature is authentic. Also note that this still has been trimmed and it now measures 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] (it originally measured slightly over that). As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
