An Original Vintage Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

King Solomon of Broadway, the 1935 Alan Crosland New York City theater stage play musical romantic melodrama ("Hear... These tantalizing tunes: That's What You Think, Flower In My Lapel, Moanin' In The Moonlight, La Cabanna (Rumba)") starring Edmund Lowe, Dorothy Page, Pinky Tomlin, Edward Pawley (billed as "ED. Pawley"), Louise Henry, and Charles Grapewin. Dorothy Page had a very interesting background! She married a doctor in 1925 when she was 21, and in the early 1930s, they were struggling, and she auditioned for Paul Whiteman, and became a singer with his band. In 1935, she was signed by Universal and appeared in two movies, but they dropped her. In 1937, Grand National, which was on the verge of bankruptcy after their disastrous loss on Something to Sing About, signed her to become "The Singing Cowgirl", and they made four movies with her over two years, but those did not do well, and the series was killed. She had several marriages and personal misfortunes, and she passed away in 1961 at the age of 57.
