An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Anita Louise was an actress from the 1920s to the 1970s. She came to prominence in the mid 1930s at Warner Bros., but she had actually been in movies since 1922, when she was a 7 year-old child actress, and she successfully made the transition to a teen actress, and then an adult leading lady (one of the very few child stars to ever do this, joining Natalie Wood, and a very select few others)! She was also a WAMPAS Baby Star in 1931. Some of her movies include: The Story of Louis Pasteur, A Midsummer Night's Dream, A Dream Comes True, Tovarich, The Little Princess, and Marie Antoinette. She passed away in 1970 at the age of 50 after a stroke. Important Added Info: Note that this is a fascinating still! It has no printing on it except for a "VV-59" still code, and we don't know what movie this corresponds to. But it has "Anita Louise with Billie Burke in The Marquise Alcazar" in pencil on the back. Miss Louise and Miss Burke did not appear in a movie together, but Billie Burke appeared in "Becky Sharp" in 1935, and there is a character in that who is a "Marquis", and we wonder if Miss Louise was going to play his 20 year-old wife, and maybe she was cut from the movie (we could certainly imagine Miriam Hopkins not wanting a pretty young 20 year-old competing with her in the movie!). Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock and it has an embossed photographer's signature in the bottom right. Condition: very good to fine.
