It was founded in 1955 in what was East Berlin, as a counterpart of the famous Berlin Zoological Garden in West Berlin. Tierpark Berlin is located in Friedrichsfelde on the former grounds of Friedrichsfelde Palace, which is situated within the zoo. It is the largest zoo in Europe, and features over 8000 animals (from 650 species) on 160 hectares. That is because it was created with an intentional "retro" design, inspired by the great 1930s German zoo posters. This poster is the one from 1977. Condition: very good to fine.
