A 1977 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Photobusta Movie Poster (lrg pbusta; measures 25 1/2" x 37" [65 x 94 cm]) (Learn More) Kaiju Daisenso (released in other English-speaking countries as "Invasion of Astro-Monster" and "Godzilla vs Monster Zero"), the 1965 Ishiro Honda Toho Japanese kaiju battling rubbery monsters science fiction (sci-fi) thriller starring Godzilla (king of the monsters!), Rodan (the flying monster), King Ghidrah (the three-headed dragon monster), Nick Adams, Akira Takarada, Jun Tazaki, Kumi Mizuno, and Gary Graham. In this movie, Godzilla's look was made less severe and more friendly, befitting the protector that his character was becoming (although he still accidentally caused much damage on his own), and the film also featured the famous (or infamous) Godzilla "shie" victory dance! Also, note that this movie was made in Japan in 1965, but was not released in the U.S. until 1970 (it was released in some other countries between 1965 and 1970), and when it was released in the U.S. in 1970, it was not released by itself, but solely on a double-bill with "War of the Gargantuas" (and they put "ALL NEW" on the poster, because it WAS new to U.S. audiences in 1970). The delay seems to be related to the death of star Nick Adams and an internal business dispute with the U.S. distributors. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: fair to good. The corners have been trimmed from the poster. There is a large vertical tear in the middle of the bottom edge with some yellowed tape on the back that bleeds through to the front.
