Green India/England politics hostage melodrama ("From the Play by William Archer"; about three English people, a married couple and a doctor who crash land in a mythical kingdom bordering India, and they discover that the country's Rajah has three half-brothers awaiting execution in India, and the Rajah and his people believe that a "Green Goddess" has sent those people to them, so they can be held hostage and executed if the half-brothers are executed by India!) starring George Arliss (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as Rajah of Rukh), Alice Joyce, Ralph Forbes, H.B. Warner, Ivan Simpson, and Betty Boyd. Note that this movie was released in both a "talking" and a "sound" version, and that is was a remake of one of Arliss' major silent hits (the 1923 movie of the same name). Also note that the same source play served as the basis for the 1943 movie, Adventure in Iraq, although the story was updated to the then present day! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
