An Original Vintage Linenbacked Travel Poster (Learn More)

Universal City, California, the 1915 travel poster ("Grand Opening of the World's Only Movie City"; "The 101-Bison Company putting on a war drama"; "Staging a Turkish street scene"; "The largest moving picture stage in the world"; "Watching the famous Universal stars rehearsing in the wonderful outdoor studios"; "A section of the mammoth zoo"; "Wild enthusiasm attends the opening of Universal City California, the strangest place on earth"; "An entire city built and used exclusively for the making of moving pictures") encouraging people to visit the unincorporated area within the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles County which is the properly of Universal. Note that when "talkies" started, tourist could no longer watch scenes being filmed because the crowds were too loud and ruined scenes. However, that changed in 1964 with the opening of the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park and its included Studio Tour.
