What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded. It had darkened somewhat, typical of French posters from this period. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. Note that at some point after linenbacking, the poster was roughly handled and there are now creases down the left edge of the excess linen, slightly affecting the blank border of the poster. This would diminish greatly if the poster were put under weight, and it would not show at all if the poster was framed.
