DeMille Date Sold 11/15/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed Canceled Check (measures 3" x 7") (Learn More) Cecil B. DeMille was a legendary director from the 1910s to the 1950s. What makes him so remarkable is that he made some of the very first great movies, including "The Squaw Man" in 1914, but he was one of the only great silent directors to have no trouble transitioning to sound, and he made great movies in the sound era, even into the 1950s! Some of his movies include: The Ten Commandments, The Greatest Show on Earth, and Samson and Delilah. Of course, he also had a memorable acting role in Billy Wilder's "Sunset Boulevard" in 1950 (he did a great job, but it was made easier because he was playing himself!). He passed away in 1959 at the age of 77. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Cecil B. DeMille (the back is endorsed by his son, so his signature appears there, but we did not photograph it)! Note that the item was purchased by our consignor together with another Cecil B. DeMille signed check, and the two of them came with a "letter of authenticity" from PSA/DNA Autograph Authentication Services for both signed checks. However, we are auctioning the two checks separately, so that two different people can get to own a signed check from this legendary director. We will send the winning bidder of the other signed check the original of that certificate, but we have put the image of the certificate on this auction for the other signed check (but of course, we can't send that this winning bidder the original as well). Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
