A Photographic Negative (measures 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm]) (Learn More) Gia Scala (born Josefina Grazia Scoglio) was an English-born Italian actress (who moved to New York City with her family when she was 14) from the 1950s to the 1960s. Some of her movies include: The Guns of Navarone, All that Heaven Allows, The Tunnel of Love, The Angry Hills, and Don't Go Near the Water. Her personal life was very turbulent with clinical depression, which she self medicated with drugs and alcohol. After her mother passed away and her marriage dissolved, she committed suicide. She passed away in 1972 at the age of 38. Important Added Info: Note that this is a CAMERA ORIGINAL negative, the actual film that was in the camera when the photographer shot the image. Our consignor knows this is a Universal portrait from the late 1950s, but he does not know if it is connected to a movie. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. We have taken a scan of the negative as it appears, and also a special scan of the negative that shows the "positive image".
