An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Inspiration (released in some countries as "Yvonne"), the 1931 Clarence Brown Paris model romantic prostitution melodrama ("A Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer All Talking Picture"; based on the novel 'Sapho' by Alphonse Daudet; about a French streetwalker who finds true love with a handsome young man, but she leaves him because of her past, and then she returns to him, but he learns about her past and leaves her, and that makes him afraid she will kill herself, and he returns to her, but then she leaves him again!) starring Greta Garbo, Robert Montgomery, Lewis Stone, Marjorie Rambeau, and Judith Vosselli. Note that there was a French language version of this movie filmed simultaneously, but with a different cast (with Mary Marquet in the lead role), but that movie was made during the time MGM and Pathe had a co-production deal, and it fell apart at exactly this time, and Pathe sued MGM over this film and won, so it was not released until 1934, three years after it was made. Important Added Info: Note that while we have previously auctioned four different lobby cards from this movie, we have never before auctioned THIS lobby card, which has a wonderful close up of Greta Garbo and Lewis Stone! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. There is a 1" vertical scuff in the lower left, running from the solid blue area above the "A" of the title up into the bottom of Stone's jacket. There is a tiny pinhole in each top blank corner, as well as one in the background above Stone's hair and one in the corner of the top right solid black area. There are a few faint smudges and scuffs in the blank borders. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition.
